Installation instructions:
1. Use a volt meter to confirm that you have 120 volts between Ll and
neutral. This meter will not function correctly unless this is the case.. If
there are two hot lines and there is 240V between them, you have a
120/240V system: In this case you will use an EKM-251DS v.2 meter.
2. Discuunect ur switch power off before attempting to install, connect,
disconnect, or service the meter. ALL POWER MUST BE TURNED OFF!
3. IMPORTANT: Distinguish and then identify the hot Line and the
neutral line. Label both of them.
4. Once the power has been turned off,, pass line 1'through the hole on
the right of the meter and pass the neutral line thought the hole on the
left side of the meter. (for a retrofit installation this. may first require
disconnecting Ll and neutral from a breaker orjunction box)
S. Once the wires are through the meter the ends should be reconnected
in their original positions. On the meter, tighten down the tap screws
for each line that passes through the meter. The tap screws penetrate
the wire insulation and power the meter once the power is turned on.
6. Mount the meter using 35mm DIN Rail in a protected indoor location.
If installing outdoors, a UL Listed Type 4 Enclosure is required.
7. Once the above steps are completed, and you are ready, you can turn
the power back on and begin to read your meter.

Working Principle:
When the meter is working, the energy consumed by the user.is transformed into voltage and current signals, which are sampled by sample circuits. H
pulse signal is then produced by a specialized IC. The Pulse signal is directly proportional to power consumption. The MCU records and stores the
correspondingenergy use. The LCD screen displays the energy use.
Data:
The LCD display shows one piece of data: total electricity consumed(kWh). By design the kWh cannot be reset. The meter will goat least 10 years
without power and still keep Its kWh readings. In other words, the memory will not be erased if there is no power.
Transport and Handling:
The meter should be handled with care, as there are precision components inside that could break and/or cause faulty readings should the meter
become damaged. Theprocess of transportation/handling, and installation should be done according to the transportation and storage rule of
GB/T1.5464-1995. Keep the meter in the original packaging when stored. The storage temperature range should be 0-40°C.The relative humidity
should be 565%. There should be no toxic chemicals present and no corrosive substances or gases in the air. The meters should be stacked on a
platform no more than ten units high.
Warranty:
Within two years from the date of sale, and on the condition that the user abide by the specifications and installation instructions listed here, and the
sealing is kept completely intact. If the meter does not correspond with the rule of the enterprise standard, the meter shall be repaired free or replaced.
Wiring Diagram:
The diagram shown below is also marked on the meter body.

Surface Mount
Parts:
#1: Hex Nut
#2u Lock Washer
43: Small Bolt O O
#4: Cover Screw
#5: Enclosure Box x2 x2 x2 x4
#6: DIN Rail #1 #2 #3 #4
#7: Surface Enclosure Cover
Principle:
This setup is Intended for indoor surface mount applications. The
enclosure should be attached to a surface in an appropriate way at the
discretion of the installer. Any electrical, current transformer, or
communication wires should be routed to the enclosure via conduit.
There are.two threaded ports for conduit to enter on the top, bottom,
and rear of the enclosure box.
Installation Instructions:
1. First choose a suitable surface to mount your enclosure on and find a
good wayto attach the Enclosure Box(95) to the surface. For example,
this can be done by drilling through the back of the enclosure box and
screwing to a wooden structural member.
2. Before you mount the enclosure to the surface you will need to attach
the DIN rail(46) inside the Enclosure Box.To do this, Insert the Hex
Nuts(91) into the recesses in the back of theenciosure. This will hold
them in place. Now pass the Small Bo(t(43) through the. Lock
Washer(#2),.through the DINRail(#6), and through the Enclosure Box,
into the Hex Nut(#1). Use a screwdriver to tighten the bolts.
3. Now mountthe enclosure to the surface you have chosen.
4: Route all of the wiring to the enclosure before you install your meter.
5. Connect thewires to your meter before you clip it onto the DIN rail.
6. When you.have wired up your meter, clip it onto the DIN rail. This is
done by inserting the top of the meter first: Then pull down on the
spring loaded clip atthe bottom to get it to go behind the bottom of
the .DIN Rail. If this is done correctly the meter should now be securely
mounted.
7. At.this point you can turn the electricity on and make sure that your
meter powers an and that you are getting good reads. If you are using,
a smart meter youcan also test that your meter is communicating
properly.
S. When you are satisfied that everything is connected appropriately you
can install the Surface Enclosure Cover(47) using the four Cover
Screws(#4) and you should now be finished Installing your meterand
Indoor Enclosure.
