It is acceptable to replace existing sliding glass door openings for the address listed
above with a new non -impact sliding glass door made by PGT Window Systems. There
are existing approved hurricane shutters to cover the openings. The "5470 " vinyl sliding
glass door has a Florida number NOA-#17-0420.07. The nominal wind speed is 132
mph and the ultimate wind speed is 170 mph. It has a +60 / -60 design pressure. The
actual building design pressures of address listed above in Zone 4 is +51.4 / -56.3. The
building has a type II classification and exposure category "D" for the 6th Edition of the
FBC (2017). Worst case scenario has been calculated.

Our office has calculated the required design pressures in accordance with ASCE 7-10
and Florida Building Code 2017 for the installation of accordion shutters at the above
referenced address.
Wind speed: V i,: 165 mph, V, d: 128 mph
Exposure: D
Enclosure Type: Enclosed CONTRACTOR
Shutter Size: 96" Maximum Height 1 09
Shutter Location: Covered Porch (See Attached Sketch)
Required Design Pressure: +51.3 / -68.7 PSF
Shutters to be installed shall be equal to, or exceed the required design pressures as listed
above "Required Design Pressure".
Accordion Shutters shall be installed in accordance with the shutter manufacturer's
installation instructions and Florida Product Approval and Florida Building Code 2017.
- Accordion Shutters shall be FL# 389.1.
