Dear Building Official,
I am writing this in response to a letter received from your department on November 13,
2019 regarding a building permit that expired on September 23, 2019. I would like to
request an extension of time due to reasons beyond my control.
The request is made due to the extreme length of time is has taken to custom make a
special order for a new air conditioning system needed to correct moisture issues at St.
Lucie County Airport Terminal. Siemens submitted for the BAS Control Manual on
March 12. Notified us the unit would take 16-18 weeks to manufacture. Informed us on
May 23 the unit would be ready mid -September. As of Sept. 23 the unit was at the
coating facility and unit should arrive Oct. 17. The unit actually arrived on Nov. 4.
Subsequently we are proceeding but, testing by the county is also being conducted.
I hope this gives you some insight as to the lack of inspections being requested. I also
would like your consideration to waive any fees relating to this extension request.
We have been working on this project in a limited capacity and will continue to work on
this project once the test reports give the approval to do so.
