The landscaping that was complete at that time looks. good, however, the following issues need to be addressed before I can sign off on the landscaping part of the project: 1) The irrigation needs to be operating (it is currently not working); 2) There is one dead Live Oak on the south property line; but it is compensated for because there was an extra Live Oak planted on the same property line (no issue, just for the record); 3) One Cabbage Palm, shown on the approved Landscape Plan, in the southwest corner is missing & needs to be planted; 4) There is one extra Slash Pine (2.5" dbh) planted on the south property line that can be used as credit towards required mitigation (no issue, just for the record); 5) The Silverthorn hedge around the south, west and north property lines are underwater stress and beginning to wilt, they need to be in good, healthy condition to be accepted; 6) No sod has been put down yet, this needs to be completed before the landscaping can be accepted; 7) There is a sign nailed into one of the Slash Pines in the southeast corner of the property that needs to be removed; 8) The landscaping in the southeast corner has not yet been completed; 9) The County is still waiting for a copy of the receipt proving that the Slash Pines were treated with insecticide as required per earlier correspondences; 10) The issue of mitigation has not been resolved yet, 251 inches of trees or $50,200 needs to be accounted for. It is the intent of Dooley & Mack Constructors, Inc. to settle the tree mitigation requirements for the Guardian Storage project by purchasing two hundred and fifty one inches (251") of trees from your nursery. As per our conversation, the trees will be stored at your nursery facility until the County determines a delivery destination. At that time Nature's Keeper will deliver the trees and possibly assist in installation at no additional cost to the County. The trees will be contained in seventy-two inch diameter wire baskets and will consist of species native to St. Lucie County (i.e.: Slash Pine, Laurel Oak, Live Oak, etc...). Prior to the issuance of any building permits for any building or structure on this site, including the removal of any vegetation, the applicant must receive approval from the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission for the relocation of the gopher tortoises found on the site. 4. Prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for the first building, the developer shall install a six (6') foot wide concrete sidewalk adjacent to U. S. Highway One from the northern property line to the southern property line. 5. The applicant shall connect to central water and sewer services upon the installation of central water and sewer lines along the west side of South U. S. Highway One adjacent to the subject property. The use of the private well shall be discontinued except for irrigation use until such time as an alternative water resource for irrigation is available. 6. Prior to the issuance of a Land Clearing Permit, the developer shall delineate all areas to be preserved and shall institute applicable safeguards to ensure the health and viability of the protected trees.
