A RESOLUTION GRANTING VARIANCES FOR
CERTAIN PROPERTY IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of Adjustment of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following
determinations:
I CEJ Properties. presented a petition for Variances from the Provisions of Section
9.02.0 1, St. Lucie County Land Development Code, to allow several signs for the
project known as Flying 'T' Travel Plaza, which do not meet requirements (refer to
Exhibits "A" and "A-1 "for proposed sign information).
2. On November 19, 1997, this Board held a public hearing on the petition, after
publishing a notice of such hearing and notifying by mail all owners of property
within 500 feet of the subject property.
3. After consideration of the testimony presented during the November 19, 1997, public
hearing, including staff comments and the standards of review for granting variances
set out in Section 10.01.02, St. Lucie County Land Development Code, the Board of
Adjustment has made the following determination:
The requested variances tneet the standards of review as set forth in Section
10.01.02, St. Lucie County LandDevelopinent Code and is not in conflict with the
goals, objectives, andpolicies ofthe St. Lucie County Comprehensive Plan, because:
a. The variances granted will not adversely affect other property or
improvements in the neighborhood.
b. The variances granted will not adversely affect property values or other
improvements in the neighborhood.
C. The variances granted meet the general spirit and intent of the St Lucie
County Land Development Code and the St. Lucie County
Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, TREREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Adjustment of St. Lucie
County, Florida:

A. The petition of CFJ Properties, for Variances from the Provisions of Section 9.02.01,
St. Lucie County Land Development Code, to permit the construction of several
signs which do not meet the requirements of the St. Lucie County Land Development
Code, is granted for the property described below, subject to the following
conditions:

shall be reduced from 15 feet by 20 feet to 9 feet by 16 feet.

B. The property on which these variances are being granted is described as follows:
SECTION 24, TOWNSHIP 35 SOUTH, RANGE 39 EAST. THE NORTH 300 FEET OF THE
EAST 100 FEET OF THE WEST V. OF THE NORTHWEST V, OF THE NORTHEAST V4
LYING WESTERLY OF THE WESTERN RIGHT-OF-WAY OF INTERSTATE 95.
(Location: Northeast corner of Orange Avenue and Kings Highway, adjacent to
Interstate 95.)
C. These variances shall expire twelve months from the date of adoption - November
19, 1998 - unless building permits are issued or an extension is granted in accordance
with Section 10.01.06, St. Lucie County Land Development Code.
