As requested, Summit Design & Forensics, Inc. (Summit) has reviewed the existing roof
framing at the above captioned address to verify if the framing is structurally adequate to
support an insulated panel system attached to the existing purlins. It is our understanding
that this system will add an additional dead load of 3 psf to the existing framing. Further,
based on field measurements provided by Dade Service Corporation, the existing roof
zee-purlins are 8 inch depth by 12 gage and are spaced at five feet on -center.
Based on our review, the existing roof framing for the above captioned project will
be structurally adequate to support the proposed insulated panel system load which
weighs 3 psf. The attachments for this insulated panel system to the purlins shall be
per details 4 and 5 on sheet A5 prepared by Dade Service Corporation and sealed by
Anthony Lepore Architect dated June 19, 2018. The rods will be located at the butt
joints of the ceiling panels and at each roof purlin.
