Unit 212 Balcony formed with reinforcing in place
Arrived on site, as requested by the contractor to observe the following:
1. Unit 212 balcony excavation complete. The east, north, and south sides of the balcony have
been excavated to expose the ends of two layers of approx. X inch diameter welded wire
fabric reinforcing. Provide min 1 Y2" cover all steel.
2. Supplemental reinforcing has been added at 24" o/c per plan.
3. Contractor to check for continuity of rebar with a multi meter and tie new rebar to existing
reinforcement prior to installing zinc anodes. Anodes to be placed at approximately 24" o.c.
4. SIKA Armatek 110 Epo-Cem has been added to the existing and new reinforcing. A second
application will be required to be installed prior to the pour for a wet to wet installation.
Alternatively, a scrub coat of the repair mortar can be

6. OK to pour concrete per plan and specifications after anodes are installed. Consolidate
plastic concrete at time of placement by mechanical means and install per manufacturer

Unit 206 &208 Balcony edges excavated with reinforcing In place
Arrived on site, as requested by the contractor to observe the following:
1. Unit 206 & 208 balcony excavation complete. The east, north, and south sides of the balcony have
been excavated to expose the ends of two layers of approximately Y4 Inch diameter welded wire
fabric reinforcing. Repair of balcony nosing edge per detail #3.sheet S2.0. (See Photographs 1&2)
2. Supplemental reinforcing has been added at 24" o/c per plan with (2) #5 continuous edge bars
3. SIKA Armatek 110 Epo-Cem to be added to the existing and new reinforcing.
4. Zinc anodes are in place at 2 feet o/c per plan. Acceptable.
5. OK to pour concrete per plan and specifications after anode installation.
6. Consolidate plastic, concrete at time of placement by mechanical means.

Progress: 2nd 3rd 4th 5th, and 6th floors balcony edges excavated with reinforcing in
place.
Comments:
Arrived on site, as requested by the contractor to observe the following:
1. Contractor requested that a shoring plan be generated for the balcony demolition phase as
requested by the St. Lucie County Building Inspector. Pennoni to prepare shoring for typical
deck and send to RTI.
2. The area of the overhead walkway at the receiving area was reviewed with the contractor.
There was significant chunks of spalling concrete debris lodged between the deck and
overhead piping could become dislodged. We recommend that the contractor remove the
concrete. (See Photographs 18i2)
3. 2nd floor units 4306, 308; 3rd floor units #206, 208 balcony; 4th floor units #406, 808; 5th floor
units #506, 508 and, 6t' floor units #606, 608 balcony partial demolition is not complete.
Contractor to refer to details 5 and 9 on S2.0 for guidance. The west side and center of the
balcony need to have had more areas excavated to expose the ends of two layers of the deck
reinforcing. The 6th floor concrete column between units'606 and 60fi fpflair utilizing detail 2
and 4 on 5.2.0.

Comments:
Arrived on site, as requested by the contractor to observe the following:
1. Weather conditions were 930 partly cloudy to sunny. It had just rained 1 hour earlier.
2. Units 206 & 208 and Units 606 &.608 party wall columns were excavated, formed and poured
before today's rain began. Contractor provided photos. (See Photographs 1-4)
3. Units 406 & 408 balcony deck excavation complete. The mid deck area of the balconies have
been excavated to expose the ends of two layers of approximately % Inch diameter welded
wire fabric reinforcing. Repair is not ready to pour. (See Photographs 5-6)
4. Supplemental reinforcing has been added at 24" o/c per plan with (2) #5 continuous edge
bars.
5. SIKA Armatek 110 Epo-Cem is to be added added to the existing and new reinforcing before
contractor pours the repair.
6. Seven - Zinc anodes are to be placed at 24" o/c per plan. The locations weredetermined and
marked for the contractor.
7. OK to form the area and pour concrete per plan and specifications after anode installation is
verified,
