All inputs/defaults/building characteristics used for the ACCA Manual J Version 8
calculations must be verified by the Homeowner and/or must be verified by the builder/owner/contractor verifying that what
is built is consistent with the builderslowners project components used in this report. All data used for Manual J sizing
report is based on RFI received via customer.. K.O. Energy Design must be notified in writing of any said changes to RFI.
Equipment Selection
The equipment sizing below was carefully performed to meet or exceed the FL Mechanical Code. Alternate equivalent
equipment selection shall also meet the attached Requirements. Any change in SEER or size of equipment will require close
review and possible revision to this load calculation. K.O. Energy Design must be notified in writing of any said changes and
cannot take responsibility for any deviations from the recommendations below.
Equipment selected should be within the following parameters:
Net Gain 32,832 BTUH per Manual J. (This is the minimum amount of cooling necessary )
Max BTU 37,757 ( Max 15% increase per FBC mandatory requirements)
Recommended tonnage 3 ton.
We always recommend that a Duct leakage test and/or Blower door infiltration test be performed. This is especially
important on older homes that have not been upgraded since 2007. These tests will identify where excess leakage, from
ducts or unexpected infiltration may be entering the home. These are the primary causes for discomfort due to high humidity,
high electric bills, toxic air, and odors in your home.
Duct leakage test will indicate Air Duct Problems and insufficient seals:
A= Leaky connections; B= Leaky return; C= Furniture blocking registers; D= Leaks at air handler and air -filter slot and duct
tape failures; E=Fallen duct insulation; F=Leaky supply ducts; G= Kinks restricting airflow.
