The specimens were fabricated with four (4) aluminum sheets measuring 12.500", 48", 48", and 35.500" x 14' long and each was painted white on the exterior. The sheets were joined together at each longitudinal edge by means of an aluminum cleat to form one (1) continuous member. The sheet stock was a minimum 0.024" thick. The cleat stock was 0.030" minimum thick. Joining of the .024 sheet stock with the .030" cleat is achieved via pressure clamping and application of a continuous strip of Birdsong Ind. Product # 2535 Butyl Rubber tape on both sides of the seam. Premier Industries Insulfaam molded EPS 2" thick polystyrene foam panel's min. #1 lb. density between the 2" x 4" P.T. installation members, underneath the aluminum sheeting.
