The unbreached envelope criterion is met as per ASTM E 1996 as the system is considered "non -porous" and remains intact under Impact and air pressure loading. The envelope criterion is met when the system encloses the protected opening all around. Product Marking: A label shall be fixed to the screen barrier with the following statemarii: " Screen Corporation, Current Address, Testing Standards, Current FBC Number, Job -nd Screen Opening/Number, Patented and Patents Pending, US Patent No. 6176050", PRODUCT DATA: a Geosynthetic hurricane screen: The hurricane screen shall be produced from a polypropylene, woven mononlament geotextile fabricwith individual filaments woven into a basket weave network and calendered such that.the filaments retain dimensional stability relative to each other; The woven monoflament geotextile fabric shall have the following minimum average roll values: Grab Textile Strength (ASTM D4632) 425 x 325 LBS Puncture. Design Pressure +60 /-60 PSF • The design pressure may be increased 5°/a, for negative loads ( 63 PSF). • Span (anchor span) equals the distance between the primary Torus of anchors on opposing sides of the screen and when calculated with negative wind pressure, determines fastener size and spacing. {,Ail Gecsynthe€ic Hurricane Screen assembly details depicted whin these drawings are typical ror: l the installation of this wind abatement and Impact system only. All other building components shown herein are depicted as existing or samples and not constructed by the screen company. INSTALLATION NOTES: • This system is designed for last minute applications that can be quickly screwed in place or initially designed for a traditional permanent anchor system. Systems that are screwed in place because of last minute protection may be converted to a permanent anchor system using the same screw -hole locations in both the screen and `structure. • Deflection is the minimum glass separation measured at mid span of the screen and subject to rational analysis (see tables on page 10). Separation offset may be achieved by utilizing Natural Deflection, Angled Style Screens, Storm Bars and Pneumatic Devices. • All anchor types and locations are determined by common and/or local construction design principles and are attached into structural members at the edges of the protected openings; i.e_ columns, lintels, masonry, or studs at each side of the openings. • Screen may be mounted with opposing primary anchored perimeters (span) in vertical, horizontal, or any alignment appropriate to the st dctur-e being protected. • if the screen does not return to the structure it should extend past protected opening by distance equal to or greater than the minimum deflection or offset, whichever is greater. For trapped openings the screen should extend completely to frill the. opening. •'The screens may be Installed at any height on the structure as Icing as the design r,x;;su.re rating for the screens is -not ex:ee :ad. • Anchors on the non -primary perimeter side (span side) of the screen are optional to . limit, potential sag in the screen or reduce movement on :the free side. * Opposing primary screen attachments I anchors are not required to be in direct alignment. • The thickness of typical facing materials i.e. stucco, siding, stone, brie, pavers, etc. are not to be considered part ofthe anchor embedment. Longer fasteners should be used to allow for facing materials. • Anchor embedment into masonry shall be into the face shelf, not mortar joints. o All fully embedded anchors may be flush with the finished facing provided they have the correct embedment into the structure behind the finish material. • Anchor installations should follow the manufacturees recommended methods. • Hex Nuts, Flange Nuts, Gap Nuts, `,tiling Nuts, etc. %` o.d. minimum), are acceptable when used wfth Hanger Bolt or Male Studs penetrating the fabric only. • For attachment into Tamale anchors, sidewalk. bolts, washered Read bolts or belts with a standard washer is required. • A caulk or sealant is recommended when using all wood genet Sting anchors. • Ail fasteners shall be corrosion resistant as specified in the IRG and IBC or stainless steel. • Any substitute product shall be equivalent or greater in specification. a Refer to pages 3 and 9 for approved anchors and anchor spacing. • Refer to page 10 for defection and storm bar tables. rCgIReylow 6r SERIES 2010 RESIDENTIAL -. y v HttRM!CANE PRO T ECTION ARMOR SCREEN CORR 1381 Old Qkeechai;eo Road West Palm 804ch, FL a r -3 : i041.88DO vPAw.armorscmen.wm oa,o: 4E1241;0 Rcv oaw.
