(1) ANY PLANS SUBMITTED WITHOUT COMPLYING WITH THE FOLLOWING SHALL BE RETURNED WITHOUT
APPROVAL. ALL PLANS MUST BE IN INK AND ANY NOTATIONS IN PENCIL WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED A PART OF
A SUBMISSION.
• All plans must belegible and must be designed in Architect's Scale on pages which are 81/2" x 11" or larger.
• All relevant tables & details, if using a manual, must be properly highlighted and must match design checklists &
drawings.
• The plan view must include all dimensions; the location of the host structure and all materials must be sized and
identified thereon.
• All elevations must be shown, including 4`s wall detail, dimensions and all material must be sized and identified.
• All primary and secondary carrier beams, spans, spacing, gauges must be shown [Example: T x 8" x .072"].
• All methods of fastening or other details which are relevant to the design must be identified on the Plans.
• All upright column heights, sizes, spacing and gauges must be shown as follows: [Example: 3" x 3" x .050"].
• All chair -rails, roof purlins, gins, channels, knee -bracing, k-bracing, cable bracing or any other required component must
be sized and identified.
• All ridge beams and super gutter or fascia attachments must be identified.
• All roof pans or composite panels, with gauges and spans, must be sized and identified.
• All footing, slab and ISO pier designs must be on the plans, per the Architect / Engineer's plans & specifications..
• All light metal alloys which are utilized shall be designed in conformity with the Florida Building Code of 2007, Chapter
20, including 2006 revisions.
• Barrier railings, if utilized, shall have all materials, fasteners and height specified and shall have self -closing, self -
catching gates with picket spacing.
(II) SITE CONSTRUCTED SHEDS, HAVING ANY ALUMINUM COMPONENT, SHALL MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE
REQLTIREIVIENTS AND THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL ITEMS:
(A) 2 copies of the current product approval [i.e. N.O.A. or State of Florida approval] with the proposed "opening" or cladding
component highlighted and with fasteners and design pressures, per FBC 1714, clearly identified.
(B) 2 electric schematics, in accordance with the N.E.C., if applicable.
(C) Design pressures, per ASCE-7, identified on the openings of all Plans.
(III) HABITABLE ROOMS/ADDITIONS DESIGNS SHALL MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT AAMA
SPECIFICATIONS, AND CHAPTER 13 OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE.
(IV) SUNROOMS (as defined in R202 and FBC 2002.6) MAY BE CONSTRUCTED, SO LONG AS THEY MEET ALL OF THE
ABOVE REQUIREMENTS AND MUST BE IN STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH AAMA/NPEA/NSA2100.02 AND MEET THE
FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL ITEMS:
(1) The designer or engineer will state on all Plans, which Category of Design [3.1.2] will be used, inclusive of the definition.
(2) If designing a Category 4 or Category 5 structure, as defined in the current Edition of 3.1.2.4 and 3.1.2.5, proper energy
calculations and long form equipment sizing calculations shall be required, pursuant to Chapter 13 of the current State of
Florida Building Code.
(V) MOBILE HOMES (FAC 15C-2.0081 - PAC 15C-2.0072): ALL STRUCTURES ADJACENT TO OR NEW ROOF SYSTEMS
(Pan or Composite) OVER EXISTING ADJACENT STRUCTURES TO A MOBILE HOME SHALL REQUIRE:
(a) A 4`s wall or a current, signed original manufacturer's attachment approval letter which includes the model number, serial
number and current owner's name and street address.
(b) That the complete guide to H.U.D., specifications be strictly adhered to.
(c) A Certif ed Florida Engineer may design the manner of attachment of the proposed structure to the host house but shall

I hearby certify that the accompanying aluminum design for the Lowery screen enclosure
& wood deck as referenced above, demonstrates compliance with the 2007 Florida Building code Chapter 20
and the 2009 amendments to chapter 20 of the F.B.C. 2007 to the best of my knowledge.

GENERALNOTES
1. All aluminum extrusions shall be assembled and attached in accord with the manufacturer's specifications
and requirements, And with the attached engineering design for wind speeds of up to 140 miles per hour.
The more stringent requirements of the two shall be used. All aluminum extrusions shall be 6005-T-5
aluminum alloy (U.N.O.)
2. Any existing structures to which the screen enclosure and/or solid roof structure is to be attached shall be structurally sound and of adequate
structural integrity to support the fully loaded screen enclosure or solid roof. The loads imposed by those structures
are provided on sheet 2 of 4 If the structural integrity of the existing structure to support the superimposed loads is in
doubt, It shall be the responsibility of the homeowner and / or the contractor to retain services of an architect or
engineer licenced to practice in the State of Florida to field verify that the existing structure is capable of supporting
the required loads.
3. Any connections of aluminum structures to the fascia of existing structures shall be limited to roof overhangs of 24"
or less, unless noted otherwise (U.N.O.)
4. All aluminum structures with elite roofs & screen enclosed roofs and walls, as referenced herein, are designed as closed structures in
accord with FBC 2007, Chapter 20. & the 2009 amendments to Chapter 20 of the 2007 F.B.C.
5. A mean height of 30 feet used and screen cloth size of 18X14x0.013 mesh any changes the engineer shall be notified.
6. All fasteners shall be aluminum, non-magnetic stainless steel, cadmium plated steel, ceramic coated zink
7. Minimum edge distance between exterior frame ( screen walls) and the edge of supporting slab and / or footing shall be 2"
8. All fasteners use to attach aluminum frame members to concrete slab and/ or foundation shall be simpson titan ( or equal) 1/4" dia..
2" min embed into concrete, embedment anchors shall be placed amin of 3" from edges.
9. Contractor is responsible for protecting aluminum structure from dissimilar metals.
10. All primary members shall be connected with bolts, pop rivets, or other positive fasteners.
11. It is the contractors responsibility to maintain all critical edge & end distances as required for all fasteners, anchors etc..
CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION NOTES
1. Concrete work shall conform to "Building Code Requirements for Reinforced concrete" (ACI-318) and "Specifications for
Structural Concrete (ACI- 301), Latest edition.
2. Concrete mix "A" shall be used for foundation walls, footings,and exterior slabs on grade. the following spec's apply to the
concrete mix design. All concrete mixes shall contain a water -reducing admixture conforming to ASTM C-94. All air -entraining
admixture shall conform to ASTM C-260. (See sheet 2 for concrete mix A)
3. All concrete shall cure for a minimum of 28/ days. If forms for vertical surfaces are removed prior to the end of the curing period,
spray surface with liquid membrane curing compound.
4. Reinforcing steel shall conform to ASTM A615, GRADE 40 (fy=40ksi). Lap contiuous bars for tension lap splice per ACI-318
U.N.O. Provide corner bars of same size as horizontal reinforcement. Cover for concrete reinforceing steel shall be in
accordance with ACI-318 paragraph 7.7.
5. Welded wire fabric (WWF) shall conform to ASTM A-185. Lap sheets on mesh space and wire tie adjacent sheets together
Cut alternate reinforcement at control joints.
6. All slab on grade shall have construction or control joints not to exceed 12'-0" spacing U.N.O.
7. Electrical conduit and other pipes to be embedded in structural concrete floors slabs or walls shall be placed in accordance
with the requirements of ACI-318, paragraph 6.3.
FOUNDATIONS
1- Foundation concrete to have a minimum of 28/ day compression strength of 3,000 p.s.i.
steel reinforcement to be min of (1) #5 rebar cont. Grade 40 having a minimum splice of 30" at all locations, In absence of
geotechnical information, this foundation design is based on an allowble bearing capacity of 1,500 psf. Minimum slab thickness
for aluminum enclosure shall be 4 inches with 616 1 0x1 0 wwf in accord with F.B.C. 2007
2- Foundation for exterior load bearing walls: Monolithic- type construction with a minimum of 8"H x8"D with (1) #5 continuous

It is understood and agreed that the Design Professional's Basic Services under this agreement do not Include project observation or review of the Contractors
preformance or any other construction phase services will be provided by the client. The client assumes all responsibility for Interpretation of the contractors
documents and for construction observation and supervision and waives any claims against th Design Professional that may In any way connected thereto.
In addtlon, The client agrees, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to Indemnify and hold the Design Professional harmless from any loss, claim or cost Including
reasonable attorney's fees and cost of defence, arising or resulting from the performance of such services by otherperson or entities and from any and all claims
allsing from modifications, clarifications, Interpretations, adjustments or changes made to contract documentsto reflect changed field or other conditions, except
for claims arising from the sole negligence or willful misconduct thereto.
OWNERSHIP OF INSTRUMENTS OF SERVICE
All reports, plans, specificatlons, computer files, field data, notes and other documents and Instruments prepared by the Design Professional as Instruments of service
shall remain property of the Design Professional. The Design Professional shall retain all common law, statutory and other reserved rights, Including the copyright thereto.
DEFECTS IN SERVICE
The client shall promptly report to the Design Professional any defects or suspected defects In the Design Professionals work or services of which the client becomes
aware, so that the Design Professional may take measures to minimize the consequences of such defect. The client warrants that he or she will Impose similar notification
requirements on all contractors in his or her client/contractor contract and shall require all subcontractors at anylevel to contain a like requirement. Failure by the client's
contractors or subcontractors to notify the Design Professional, shall relieve the Design Professional of the cost of remedying the defects above the sum such remedy would
have cost had prompt notification been given.
Inasmuch as the remodeling and/or rehabilitation of an existing building requires certian assumptions be made regarding existing conditions, and because some of these
assumptions may not be verifiable without expending additional sums of money or destroying otherwise adequate serviceable portions of the building, The client agrees,
to the fullest extent permitted by law, to Indemnify and hold the Design Professional harmless In any claim, liability or cost ( Including attorney's fees and cost of defense)
for injury as economoc loss arising out of professional services provided under this agreement, except only those damages, liability, or cost attributable to the sole negligence
or willful misconduct of the Design Professional.
