Benton, III City of Fort Pierce PO Box 1480 Fort Pierce, FL., 34954-1480 RE: Proposed Joint Meeting/Utility Regionalization DearMayO~:~~ The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners is inviting you to a joint meeting on Thursday, April 21, 2005, from 9:00 a.m. to 11 :00 a.m., in the County Commission Chambers. The purpose of the meeting is to hear a presentation from Henry Dean, Executive Director of the South Florida Water Management District, regarding future regionalization of water and wastewater facilities. This will be Mr. Dean's last public appearance in St. Lucie County prior to his retirement in May. County staff and commissioners have been in attendance at various meetings where the trend of utility regionalization has been discussed and we felt that it would be useful to our organizations to receive the most current update. We will schedule at this meeting a future meeting to discuss annexation issues. Also, for your information, the new Clerk of the Courts Building bid opening is this Thursday, April 14th. The old courthouse is still being analyzed by FEMA and the County's insurance carrier to determine if the building is salvageable or has to be replaced.
