1. CALL TO ORDER:
Commissioner Coward called the meeting to order at 12:40 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Ja’ Net Pentz called roll.
3. SELF INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:
Attending guests identified themselves.
4. PRESENTATION BY BLAIR ADVERTISING – DRAFT FY 08/09 MARKETING
PLAN
Odaly Victorio made the announcement that she has resigned her position.
Mr. George Byfield went over the FY 08/09 Marketing Plan. There was Board
consensus to use the three-sided hibiscus flower rather than the jewel. There was

Commissioner Coward requested that Katherine Mackenzie Smith arrange for a
meeting between himself, Katherine Mackenzie Smith, My. Byfield and anyone else
Ms. Mackenzie Smith feels should be present to discuss the RFP process to
determine whether or not sponsorships have to go out for bid.
Mr. George Byfield gave an update on the meeting with the Bahamas Tourism
Group.
5. BOOKING ENGINE UPDATE
The item went to the County Commission for permission to go out for bid and was
approved.
The Board of County Commission passed a Resolution recognizing that this is
Tourism Week.
6. OTHER BUSINESS/PUBLIC COMMENT
Ed Griffith, Courtyard by Marriott, stated that from a Hotelier standpoint, we are
going to miss her contribution to tourism. He stated that she has been the driving
force in getting all the hotels recognized and coming up with creative ideas.
Chris Egan, Shearton’s PGA Vacation Resort at PGA Village, concurs with the
above. He stated that the workshops that she has implemented and just networking
with hotels, even though we have the Hotel/Motel Association, she has really been a
pleasure to work with.
The Holidays, St. Lucie Professional Arts League, also concur with the above. They
stated she has done exceptional work and has shown real dedication.
