MOTION TO APPROVE minutes of February 18, 2010 meeting made by John Holt, seconded by Robert Tabor, passed
unanimously.
Staff introduced Ft. Pierce Commissioner Tom Perona, and new member Bob Cenk who is the TC Builders Association appointment.
Commissioner Coward distributed a Pew Foundation Green Data document to the Committee.
Larry Pelton, CEO of the St. Lucie County Economic Development Council gave a presentation on the history and goals of the EDC.
He distributed a document from the Florida Energy and Jobs Working Group and expounded upon the uniqueness of St. Lucie County
due to its leadership, world-class research facility, and capacity for emerging green industries. He told the group that St. Lucie is
gaining a reputation for being at the cutting edge and is working on the potential to create a model ‘green district’ project. Larry will
return and report to the committee as green opportunities arise.
Because of the potential for SLC’s agricultural industry to be involved in these emerging green industries, the Committee thought that
an agricultural person should be invited to attend these meetings.
MOTION: The Committee then reviewed the draft resolution (10-115) which would amend and clarify the Committee’s goals and duties.
Donna Rhoden made a motion to recommend approval of the resolution; Robert Tabor seconded the motion, passed unanimously.
MOTION: The Committee reviewed a memo from the SAC Chair to the BOCC and refined the three recommendations they had made
at an earlier meeting. The recommendation to approve Resolution 10-115 was added to the memo. The motions were changed to

alternative energy forum is being planned by the Environmental Sustainability Alliance of the Research Coast (ESARC)

in-kind support to the forum.]
