UPDATE ON ONGOING PROJECTS: City of Fort Pierce has advised the County they are unable to match funds to contribute to the MLK project. Therefore the project budget depends exclusively of County funds ($60,000).. PSL Ravenswood mural project submission deadline is July 6, 2009. Parks and Recreation Department is in the process of removing (permanently) the water fountain and electric box that are attached to it and preparing the wall so that it will be ready for the artist’s work. The sub- committee will meet immediately after the deadline to vote for the proposal that will be awarded the project. City of Port St. Lucie will not be able to partner financially on WOW 3 due to budget shortfalls. It is still expected to place a couple of pieces within City of Port St. Lucie properties (at the Community Center, another at City Hall, and at the new Civic Center) The symposium for WOW3 will be organized around a Public Art Convention that will be coming to town in May 2010. Artsview Marty proposed to point out the distinction between the art pieces that the County and the City of Fort Pierce have acquired through each of their AiPP programs and the leasing of rotating art that the WOW exhibits have made possible to expand the public’s experience and be exposed to numerous artistic tendencies. The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m. Next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 3:30 a.m. at the Grants conference room, 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce. Respectfully submitted, Suzanne Antonetti 1
