1. CALL TO ORDER:
County Commissioner Doug Coward called the meeting to order
at 12:35 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Jennifer Garrity called roll.

3. SELF INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:
Attending guests identified themselves.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes from March 10, 2010 were approved unanimously.
5. FINANCIAL
Charlotte Lombard reported that the February 2010 numbers were $242,867.00
which is down 8% from February 2009.
6. SPORTS TOURISM UPDATE
Removed from agenda, unable to attend meeting.
7. NATIONAL TOURISM WEEK 2010
Charlotte Lombard gave an update on the upcoming events for “National Travel and
Tourism Week” on May 8 -16, 2010. Presentation attached.
8. SUMMER 2010 PROMOTION
Erica Byfield gave a presentation on the Summer 2010 Promotion. Presentation
attached.
9. CAPITAL GRANT UPDATE
Charlotte Lombard gave an update of the final decision of the BOCC regarding the
TDC grant applicants. BOCC selected the Backus Museum and Heathcote
Botanical Gardens. Funding possibilities are being researched for the National Navy
SEAL Museum project.
10. PUBLIC COMMENT
Buzz Smyth from the Economic Transformation Team of Fort Pierce spoke of
possible tourism opportunities in St. Lucie County.
Mr. Craig Mundt from the National Navy Seal Museum announced that the Maersk
lifeboat that was used in the April 8 hijack will be coming back to the museum. Mr.
Mundt also mentioned that the Memorial Garden is 70% complete.

Juan Azcona presented the final map produced by TC Xperience. See attached.
Paul Taglieri mentioned the numbers of visitors that came to see the Mets spring
training. He also thanked the TDC for the promotion.
Mrs. Holiday thanked Jill Hanson from the Residence for the Art Show held at their
location.

Loretta Millan mentioned the St. Lucie County Chamber’s 14 Annual Fishing
Frenzy.
Maria Bordonaro from Club Med spoke of the renovations that are going to begin
August of 2010.
