HomeMy WebLinkAboutSELF Executive Director Job Description TITLE: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, SOLAR AND ENERGY LOAN FUND (SELF) SALARY:$60,000 - 80,000 The Solar & Energy Loan Fund (SELF) is a non-profit agency which provides funding to homeowners and small businesses for projects to improve energy efficiency and conservation as well as renewable energy projects such as solar hot water and photovoltaic systems. SELF is currently contracted with St. Lucie County government to administer their $2.9 million and $500,000 Department of Energy grants. SELF is developing strategies for creating sustainable funding for the program in the future. These strategies include but are not limited to PACE, loan loss reserves and consumer lending. MAJOR FUNCTION: Leads SELF’s fundraising, public education and advocacy programs. Top management position responsible for the management of the agency, including personnel, financing and budget, policies and procedures. Implements the policies of the Board of Directors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : 1.Works closely with the Board of Directors to establish and implement the agency vision, mission, goals and objectives. 2.Ensures the financial stability and growth of the agency by implementing strategies to obtain funds from foundations, corporations, government entities and others. 3.Responsible for accuracy, security and solvency of agency funds, budget and recordkeeping. 4.Ensures SELF’s compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations as well as contract and grant requirements. 5.Promotes the interests of SELF to lenders, county and regional legislative and local government leaders as well as homeowners and contractors. 6.Develops and oversees the infrastructure and procedures necessary to accomplish agency’s mission and contractual and legal obligations. 7.Oversees SELF’s marketing and communication strategies. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1.Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or closely related field. Master’s degree preferred. 2.At least five years experience in banking and/or finance. Experience in consumer lending preferred. 3.Experience working for or with non-profit agency and/or a Board of Directors. 4.Excellent written and oral communication skills. 5.Intermediate to advanced computer software skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 6.Fundraising and/or grant administration experience a plus.
