FORT PIERCE HARBOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meeting Held On
December 15, 2010
Convened at 3:10 p.m. Adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
This meeting of the Fort Pierce Harbor Advisory Committee (FPHAC) was held Wednesday
December 15, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Engineering Conference Room in the Administration
Building, 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, Florida.

Roll call was taken.

Eva O’Donnell, Executive Aide to Commissioner Craft
Heather Young, Assistant County Attorney
OLD BUSINESS:
George Jones gave an update from Tallahassee concerning the Environmental issues. He said
things look bleak for the next 4-5 years; the State is concentrating on the job market and is less
concerned with Environmental concerns. Mr. Jones also gave an update from ORCA about the
Kilroy water quality data system and mentioned that there was a turbidity spike behind the
old Coast Guard Station and will look into the date when it becomes available. Mr. Jones also
said that the DEP and NRDAP (National Resources Damage Assessment Process) agencies are
working on damage assessments and restoration processes for the oil spill, they appear to be
working well with BP.
NEW BUSINESS:
Madame Chair asked Staff to make sure everyone is able to attend the current meeting Day

and Time which is the 3 Wednesday of the month at 3:00pm in the third floor Conference
Room 3. A new annual schedule for the new annual year will be attached to the minutes.
Madame Chair advised Committee Members that the Board of County Commissioner will be
downsizing there meetings from 4 per month to 2 per month, so effectively she suggested as

the Operational Procedures apply that unless there is something to vote on or send a
recommendation to the Board the Harbor Advisory Committee will not meet as frequently.
Madame Chair passed out new information to the Members concerning a new Erosion
prevention product that is currently being tested in Jacksonville, FL.
ADJOURNMENT:
At 3:45 p.m. the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held Wednesday January
