1. Review aid approval of Minutes
Mr. Hayek called for a motion to approve the minutes from the April 19, 2011 meeting. The
minutes were unanimously approved with corrections to page 2, line 3.
2. Introductions
Mr. Jay Meisel a writer from the Hometown News was welcomed to the meeting. He asked
the Historical Con mission board members questions regarding the condition of the
Robinson House, themdesires to preserve it and how realistic is to do so. He also wanted to
know the operating authority of the Historical Commission; more specifically, the
Commission's rights and responsibilities to Historic Sites.
A Discussion ensued from Mr. Meisel's questions about the possibility of expanding the
White City Historic District out to Midway Rd to encompass the Robinson House as a means
of preserving the property as an historic site if the house is unable to be saved. At the next
meeting the Historical Commission will look at the Historic Survey and a map of White City
to see if the expansion would be in perpetuity with the historical character of White City and
if expansion of the District is plausible.

Charlie and Jim,
Given the feedback on this issue, I recommend the Historical Commission draft afollow-up letter to the property owner
outlining a specific proposal for maintenance. We should discuss this with the group at our next meeting.

Good morning, all
I would like to think that the Historical Board could get volunteers to do the work. (we could ask the Historical Society if they would
like to be involved).
By the response from the homeowner, he would be willing to go along with whateveer we would propose.

Hello all,
I would want something more specific from the homeowner as to what he will allow to be done, when and how often, but this is a
great start. Do we know what needs to be done out there? Does the Historical Commission want to do the work themselves or do you
want to pass this information on to another group (perhaps the Historical Society who apparently did the original maintenance)?
Thanks,
Heather

Charlie,
Thanks for forwarding this -how rewarding to get a positive response from the property owner! Before anyone moves ahead with an
organization effort, let's consult with Heather about any other procedures we may need to follow before entering the property. Perhaps
Mr. Stanley's written consent is sufficient but I want to be sure.
Thanks,

Good morning, Kara and Jim'
Please see the response below from Jeff Stanley, who is the owner of the property where the fireplace is located.
If you so desire, we can get some volunteers to clean around the area. I would be glad to help.

Charles, I am in receipt of your letter. Thank you. I am well aware of the fireplace and am very glad to have it on my property. The
house is currently rented until such time I retire and renovate or rebuild on the property. The timeline for my retirement has been
pushed back indefinitely due to our difficult economic times. I have not been on the properly for a couple of years. I have maintained
the same lawn property service that the previous owners used for many years so I can only imagine the fireplace is being cared for as
it was in the past. Just before I brought the property your Historical Society had spent some time with a dig and some maintenance of
the area. You are welcome to do so again until such time I move on the property and will take over. To give you an idea of how I take
care of things, there is a photo above of the fire hydrant on my property...freshly painted and manicured by me. When I move up there
I will take similar care of the fireplace!
In case you need to reach her, I have copied Sharron Briggs who manages the property for me.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey W. Stanley
