ALTERNATIVES PUBLIC WORKSHOP
This is to inform you that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District
Four, will conduct an Alternatives Public Workshop for the 1-95 Project Development
and Environment (PD&E) Study on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. This
workshop will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn PGA Village, Persimmon Room,
located at 8540 Commerce Centre Drive in Port St. Lucie. A project and meeting
location map is enclosed.. In the event that the workshop cannot be held on September
13, 2012, due to severe weather or unforeseen conditions, it will be held on the
alternate date of October 11, 2012 at the same time and place.
The Alternatives Public Workshop will be an open -house forum where all viable
alternatives that have been developed will be on display. The goal of the workshop is to
collect and evaluate the public's comments before selecting a preferred alternative. An
invitation to the workshop is being sent to all property owners located within a minimum
of 300 feet from the project study area, other public officials, organizations and
individuals interested in the project.
The primary purpose for this project is to provide additional capacity to meet existing
and future traffic needs as well as improve safety. The additional capacity will also
improve emergency access and enhance hurricane evacuation along the project
corridor.

The project development analysis includes all structures, ramps, mainline; cross road
and interchange improvements required to add through lanes to 1-95 and to ensure
adequate future project safety, capacity and compliance with all federal and state laws.
