FORT PIERCE HARBOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meeting Held On
February 20, 2013

This meeting of the Fort Pierce Harbor Advisory Committee (FPHAC) was held Wednesday
February 20th, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Conference Room in the Administration
Building, 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, Florida.

NEW BUSINESS: Vice Chair Brad Currie started the meeting by asking Ed 5eissiger,
Engineering Project Coordinator for the City of Fort Pierce for an update on the construction
of the Fort Pierce City Marina. Mr. 5eissiger brought a PowerPoint presentation for the
Members. Members asked several questions about the project. (Presentation will be e-mailed
to all members.)
OLD BUSINESS: Minutes from the January 16, 2013 meeting were approved.
STAFF COMMENTS: Update from Don West, Public Works Director concerning the Channel
Inlet Dredging. Due to testing of the sand material as required by the FDEP, the project has
been delayed for 30 days, but is expected to move forward around March 3'd

Don West informed the Members of the upcoming Port Master Plan Workshop/Charrette on
Saturday March 23'd at the Fenn Center from 9:00 am — 1:00 pm. Don strongly urged all
Members to attend as this will give the Community as a whole the opportunity to participate
in the process of updating the Port Master Plan. This will be the first of several meetings
coming up in the near future.
Don also informed the Vice Chair and Committee Member that AECOM would like to be
present at the next Harbor Advisory Committee Meeting on March 20th to discuss on how
State Funding might be used on the future projects at the Port.
PUBLIC COMMENTOSs Members discussed Environmental issues and concerns surrounding
the Port Master Plan.
Discussion on the effects of the how the Social Media could be an effective media tool.
Mayor Hudson brought up information on a Water Way study being performed through the
Transportation and Planning Organization (TPO.) Vice Chair Currie asked Staff to ask to
invite Peter Buckwald, Director of the TPO to give the Committee Members a presentation on
this Project.
Vice Chair Currie asked Members if they received information on Cruise Ship Marketing, Don
West said he sent that correspondence to Ken Roberts at the Indian River Maritime.
ADJOURNMENTS At 4:05 p.m. the meeting was adjourned. The next scheduled meeting to
be held is Wednesday March 20, 2013 at 3:00 pm, in the 3rd Floor Conference Room.
