MINUTES Members present: Commissioner Chris Dzadovsky, Chairman Vice -Mayor Linda Bartz, City of Port St. Lucie Commissioner Tom Perona, City of Fort Pierce Marilyn Minix, Road Runner Travel Resort Linda Cox, St. Lucie County Chamber Michelle MacNichol, Perfect Drive Golf Villas Ryan O'Connor, Sandhurst Hotel Paul Tagleri, St. Lucie Mets Members absent: Chris Egan, Vistana's Beach Club — Sheraton PGA Staff present: Katherine Barbieri, St. Lucie County Attorney Charlotte Bireley, St. Lucie County Jennifer Garrity, St. Lucie County Also present: Tom Colucci, Treasure Coast Sports Commission Emily McHugh, Indian River State College Sue Hunt, Sunrise Theatre Ray Nau, Melbourne International Airport 1. CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Dzadovsky called the meeting to order at 1:37 PM. 2. ROLL CALL: Jennifer Garrity called roll. 3. SELF INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS: Attending guests identified themselves. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes from November 14, 2012 were approved. 5. FINANCIAL REPORT & WEB REPORT Charlotte Bireley reported that October 2012 revenue was down 14% compared to October 2011. Charlotte Bireley reported the balance in the 5th cent Capital Fund to be $250,000.00. Tourist Development Council Meeting 0 December 12, 2012 Charlotte Bireley provided the TDC with a report on the activity of the St. Lucie County Tourism web site and mentioned the quarterly E-blast performance report. Website activity report and performance report attached. 6. SEO/SEM Recommendations Charlotte provided the board members with information regarding the Search Engine Optimization. Presentation attached. 7.OTHER BUSINESS Commissioner Dzadovsky mentioned the expansion of the Lawnwood baseball fields and the article that is written by Scripps reporter, Susan Burgess. Linda Cox asked if Tourism was getting together with neighboring Counties for Co-op opportunities. Charlotte mentioned the opportunities that are already taking place with Martin County. 8. PUBLIC COMMENT Ray Nau, representing the Melbourne International Airport, mentioned recent activities happening at airport. Tom Colucci from Treasure Coast Sports Commission mentioned upcoming sporting events. Sue Hunt from the Sunrise Theatre mentioned upcoming events taking place at the theatre. Emily McHugh from Indian River State College Hospitality is seeking partnerships with area hoteliers for their students 9. ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 2:10PM.
