Adjourned at 4:45p.m. This meeting of the Fort Pierce Harbor Advisory Committee (FPHAC) was held Wednesday August 21st 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Conference Room in the Administration Building, 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, Florida. ROLL CALL Roll call was taken. Quorum present. Minutes from the May 15th, 2013 meeting were approved. Currie, Land Design South, Vice Chair Bobby Hopkins Warren Falls, Managing Director of ORCA Christine Taylor Mary Chapman Members Absents Vice -Mayor Linda Bartz, City of PSL Also Presents Katherine Barbieri, Assistant County Attorney Don West, Public Works Director Leslie Olsen, Planning, SLC Britton Wilson, Planning, SLC Mary Alice Bennett, Representative for Larry Lee Carole Mushier, South Beach Association Richard C Silvestri James Oppenborn, SLC Mark McGee, Indian River Solutions Mark Music, Empire Environmental Sue Deblois, 5LC Schools Jim Dragseth Charles Grande NEW BUIIINEffs A presentation was given to the Committee by James Oppenborn, St. Lucie County's Coastal Resources Supervisor, (aka "just the Fish Guy"') concerning Wesley Island. Mr. Oppenborn also invited Mr. Mark McGee from Indian River Solutions, Mr. Mark Music from Empire Environmental, and Ms. Sue Deblois from the St. Lucie County Schools to attend and help with information for the presentation. The reason for the presentation was to give information, and ask the Committee for a letter to present to the Board of County Commissioner to have Wesley's Island become an Educational opportunity/teaching/learning center for St. Lucie County. Page I of 3 Members discussed the possibility of this and agreed that a letter be written. Mayor Hudson made the motion to approve the letter, Warren Falls second the motion. Mary Chapman offered to do a draft letter for the Committee and to bring it to a meeting in the future as it is not time sensitive. OLD BUSINESS* Don West, Public Worlts/Port Director for St. Lucie County gave an update on grant funding for the 2nd Street Improvements. The Committee asked Mr. West to see if grant funding could be used for Utilities, however, after researching it, he found out the State does not fund for Utilities. Mr. West did tell the members that the grant funding can be used for other areas for improvements. Stormwater pond sites are one of those areas. The pond site to the North of 2nd Street will be increased in size due to the space shortage in the area. The City is wonting with the County on this project, and the total project is expected to cost approximately $7 million. Mr. West reminded members of the Joint Meeting for the Port Master Plan presentation on August 29th in the Board of County Commission Chambers. The Board of County Commissioners and the Board of City Commissioners are to meet at 2:00 p.m., and be given a draft presentation by Jeff Weidner, Florida Department of Transportation and Tom McGowan, AECOM concerning the Port Master Plan. Mr. West also gave the Committee Members some information on the Inlet dredging. STAFF COMMENTSs N/A PUBLIC COMMENT'' -St N/A ADJOURNMENT: At 4:45 p.m. the meeting was adjourned.
