TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL MEETING

1. CALL TO ORDER:
Commissioner Dzadovsky called the meeting to order at 1:38 PM.
2. ROLL CALL:
Susan Bellamy called roll.
3. SELF INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:
Attending guests identified themselves.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from November 13, 2013 were approved
5. PUBLIC COMMENT:

No public comment made at this time.
6. FINANCIAL REPORT & WEB REPORT:
Charlotte Bireley reported that October 2013 revenue was up 26% compared to
October 2012.
Charlotte Bireley provided the TDC with a report on the activity of the St. Lucie
County Tourism web site. Website activity report attached.
7. TREASURE COAST SPORTS COMMISSION SPORT TOURISM ANALYSIS
REPORT:
Tom Colucci presented the Treasure Coast Sports Commission Sport Tourism
Analysis report. Report attached.
8. VISITOR CERTIFICATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
Michelle MacNichol presented the Visitor Certification Scholarship Program and
requested $1,000 to $1,500 from the Tourist Development Counsel to fund this
program. Charlotte Bireley suggested the monies to come from Other Contractual
Services account. Commissioner Rufus Alexander made a motion for $1,500 be
awarded to this program. Vice Mayor Linda Bartz seconded the motion. Motion
passed unanimously. Presentation attached.
9. OTHER BUSINESS:
Commissioner Dzadovsky introduced Terissa Aronson from St. Lucie County
Chamber of Commerce as the new TDC member appointed by Commissioner
Mowery.
10. PUBLIC COMMENT:
Vice Mayor Linda Bartz informed the TDC of how she enjoyed the Sunrise Theatre
and of the fund raiser to be held at the South County Regional Sports Complex for
the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines.
Erin Franke mentioned the skydiving event to take place in Sebastian.
Ray Nau praised Charlotte Bireley for being the only Florida Destination other than
Sea World at the Dallas Travel Show.
Tom Colucci discussed his great experience at the Melbourne Airport.

Chris Egan commended the Havert L. Fenn Center staff on the Open House and
mentioned the Taste of Jensen to be held on Tuesday.
