MINUTES Members present: Commissioner Chris Dzadovsky, Chairman Marilyn Minix, Roadrunner Travel Resort Chris Egan, Vistana’s Beach Club – Sheraton PGA Michelle MacNichol, Perfect Drive Golf Villas Clive Daem, Dockside Inn Commissioner Rufus Alexander, City of Fort Pierce Paul Taglieri, St. Lucie Mets Terissa Arronson, St. Lucie Co. Chambers Members absent: Vice-Mayor Linda Bartz, City of Port St. Lucie Staff present: Katherine Barbieri, St. Lucie County Attorney Charlotte Bireley, St. Lucie County Tourism & Venues Darius McPhall, St. Lucie County Tourism & Venues Also present: Linda Fasano, ACA SLC Laura O’Brien, PSL Civic Center Craig Mundt, Seal Museum Traer Van Allen, St. Lucie Mets 1. CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Dzadovsky called the meeting to order at 12:50 PM. 2. ROLL CALL: Darius McPhall called roll. 3. GUESTS INTRODUCED THEMSELVES: Guests introduced themselves. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes from March 11, 2015 were approved. 5. PUBLIC COMMENT: No public comments. 6. FINANCIAL REPORT & WEB REPORT: Charlotte Bireley reported that the tourist tax revenue for February 2015 was up 33% compared to February of 2014. Year to date revenues are up 16%. Charlotte reported an increase in website activity of the St. Lucie County Tourism web site for the month of February. She highlighted during the presentation that she has teamed up with the webmaster to revamp the current St. Lucie County Tourism Tourist Development Council Meeting ◊ March 11, 2015 Site. Charlotte also stated that a new website program will be implemented that is more efficient and cost effective than the program that is currently being used. 7. St. Lucie County Arts & Cultural Alliance: Linda Fasano give a brief synopsis of the St. Lucie Arts & Cultural Alliance program. Then she gave information on the current initiatives of the program and the current grants that are supporting the program. Fasano also highlighted the future program endeavors and how the program is expected to impact the community. She then concluded the presentation with a list of the collaborations that are currently being planned to promote arts and culture in the community. 8. Other Business: Craig Mundt from the Seal Museum invited everyone to the private showing of the renovations of the museum on April 20, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm. Charlotte Bireley announced Tourism Week’s kick off breakfast on May 01, 2015. Chris Dzadovsky updated the board on the success of the 4th annual Oyster Festival. He stated that the event has been more and more successful each year and really generating a positive buzz amongst followers. Dzadovsky also mentioned that an attempt will be made to raise the barge. 9. Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 1:35 PM. Page 2 of 2
