Roof decks shall be in accordance with FBC requirements to the satisfaction of the AHJ. Wind load resistance of the roof deck shall be documented through proper codified and/or FBC Approval documentation. 2. Unless otherwise noted, fasteners and stress plates for insulation or base sheet attachment shall be as follows. Unless otherwise noted, insulation may be any one layer or combination of polyisocyanurate, polystyrene, wood fiberboard, perlite, DensDeck, DensDeck Prime, DensDeck DuraGuard, MonoBoard, TopRock DD, SECUROCK Gypsum-Fiber Roof Board or SECUROCK Glass-Mat Roof Board that meets the QA requirements of F.A.C. Rule 9N-3 and is documented as meeting FBC 1505.1 and, for foam plastic, FBC 2603.4.1 or 2603.6, when installed with the roof cover. VersaShield® Solo'" Fire.-Resistant Slip Sheet may be used as a non-load-bearing, fire-barrier slip-sheet component within any system outlined herein. 4. Minimum 200 psi, minimum 2-inch thick lightweight insulating concrete may be substituted for rigid insulation board for System Type D (mechanically attached base sheet, bonded roof cover), whereby the base sheet fasteners are installed through the LWIC to engage the structural steel or concrete deck. The structural deck shall be of equal or greater configuration to the steel and concrete deck listings. 5. Unless otherwise noted, insulation adhesive application rates are as follows. Ribbon or bead width is at the time of application; the ribbons/beads shall expand as noted in the manufacturer's published instructions. ➢ Hot asphalt(HA): Full coverage at 25-30 lbs/square ➢ OMG OlyBond 500 (OB500): Continuous 0.75-inch wide ribbons, 12-inch o.c. using PaceCart or SpotShot. Note: OlyBond Classic or OlyBond 500 Green may be used where OlyBond 500 is referenced. GAF LRF Adhesive M (LRF-M): Continuous 1-inch wide ribbons, 12-inch o.c ➢ ADCO Millennium One-Step Foamable Adhesive (M-OSFA): Continuous 1-inch wide ribbons, 12-inch o.c. ➢ GAF 2-Part Roofing Adhesive (G-2-Part): Continuous 2.5 to 3-inch wide ribbons, 12-inch o.c. ➢ 3M CR-20: Continuous 2.5 to 3-inch wide ribbons, 12-inch o.c..Note:TITESET may be used where 3M CR-20 is referenced. ➢ Note: When multiple layers(s) of insulation and/or coverboard are installed in ribbon-applied adhesive, adhesive ribbons shall be staggered from layer-to-layer a distance of one-half the ribbon spacing. Note: The maximum edge distance from the adhesive ribbon to the edge of the insulation board shall be not less than one-half the specified ribbons spacing. 6. Unless otherwise noted, all insulations are flat stock or taper board of the minimum thickness noted. Tapered polyisocyanurate at the following thickness limitations may be substituted with the following Maximum Design Pressure (MDP) limitations. In no case shall these values be used to increase'the MDP listings in the tables; rather if MDP listing below meets or exceeds that listed for a particular system in the tables, then the thinner board listed below may be used as a drop-in for the equivalent thicker material listed in the table. ➢ Hot asphalt(HA): MDP -240.0 psf (Min.0.5-inch thick) ➢ OMG OlyBond 500 (08500): MDP -45.0 psf (Min.0.5-inch thick EnergyGuard RM) ➢ OMG OlyBond 500 (013500): MDP -187.5 psf (Min.0.5-inch thick EnergyGuard) OMG OlyBond 500 (08500): MDP -315.0 psf (Min.0.5-inch thick EnergyGuard RN) ➢ OMG OlyBond 500 (06500): MDP -485.0 psf (Min.0.5-inch thick EnergyGuard RA) ➢ GAF 2-Part Roofing Adhesive (G-2-Part): MDP -117.5 psf (Min. 1.0-inch thick) ➢ 3M CR-20: MDP -117.5 psf (Min. 1.0-inch thick) 7. Bonded polyisocyanurate insulation boards shall be maximum 4 x 4 ft. 8. Commonly used methods are RAS 117 and FM LPDS 1-29. Assemblies marked with an asterisk* carry the limitations set forth in Section 2.2.1.5.1(a) of FM LPDS 1-29 for Zone 2/3 enhancements. 9. For fully bonded assemblies, the maximum design pressure for the selected assembly shall meet or exceed critical design pressure determined in accordance with FBC Chapter 16, and no rational analysis is permitted. 10. For mechanically attached components over existing decks, fasteners shall be tested in the existing deck for withdrawal resistance. A qualified design professional shall review the data for comparison to the minimum requirements for the system. Testing and analysis shall be in accordance with TAS 105 or ANSI/SPRI FX-1. 11. For existing substrates in a bonded recover installation, the existing roof surface shall be examined for compatibility and bond performance with the selected adhesive, and the existing roof system shall be capable of resisting project design pressures on its own merit to the satisfaction of the AHJ, as documented through field uplift testing in accordance with ASTM E907, FM LPDS 1-52 or ANSI/SPRI IA-1. 12. For Recover Applications using System Type D, the insulation is optional. Alternatively, min. 0.5-inch EnergyGuard High Density Roof Fiberboard or min. 0.25-inch DensDeck, DensDeck Prime or SECUROCK Gypsum-Fiber Roof Board or SECUROCK Glass-Mat Roof Board, or min. 1.0-inch EnergyGuard POLYISO INSULATION, EnergyGuard RA, EnergyGuard RH, EnergyGuard RM, EnergyGuard RN or EnergyGuard Ultra may be used as a separator board, preliminarily attached prior to base sheet installation. Grasp attached nails by the head and peel back. Rotate nail to vertical position for easy removal. For Cobra@ Snow CountryTM, use nails at least 13/4-inch or longer. Nails must always penetrate through plywood decks or at least 3/4-inch into wood planks. NOTE: GAF recommends 3-inch ring shank nails for increased uplift resistance. 6.3.5 Spacing: Attach the vent section through the pre-molded nailing holes located at 3, 12, 24, 36 and 45-inch from the start of each 48-inch vent piece. 6.3.6 Joints: Apply the subsequent Cobra® rigid vent sections over the length of the ridge using the overlap/underlay tabs. 6.3.7 Ridge Shingles: Install ridge shingles-in accordance with shingle manufacturer's published installation instructions, using nails detailed in 6.3.4. Note the location of the baffle (Figure H). Make sure to do this at both ends of the installation. �y Vv (OD 6.4.3 Measure the distance from the edge of the roof slot to the exterior baffle (D). Establish a chalk line along one side of the ridge (Figure 1). Unroll the vent and use the included 1-3/4- inch pneumatic roofing nails to attach the first side of the ridge vent with the exterior of the baffle aligned with the chalk line (Figure J). Proceed with using the 1' interval EasyTear TIM system to custom size the vent to the appropriate length. If the EasyTearTM system can not be utilized, use a utility knife to size the vent. Nail gun targets are embossed on the part as a guide for property attaching vent to the roof. The vent should be fastened on 6-inch centers (Figure K). In the case they do not, you must use alternate nails that provide the required penetration. Proceed with attaching the other side of the vent. When beginning to nail down the second side, do NOT begin at the end; begin between the first and second one-foot sections and then return to fasten the first one-foot section. This will allow for proper fit. 6.4.5 Install ridge shingles in. accordance with shingle manufacturer's published installation instructions, using the nail-lines on top of the ridge vent for proper lapping. 6.5 TRUSLATE® RIDGE VENT: 6.5.1 DO NOT use on hips. 6.5.2 Intall TruSlate® Ridge Vent before installing the field slates. 6.5.3 After determining the total length of TruSlate@ Ridge Vent required (for proper ventilation), determine the.necessary slot opening. Ensure the finished ends include the pre-molded end caps. Cover all exposed nail heads on the vent with silicone caulk. Intall a bead of exterior grade silicone sealant at the downslope leading edges of the ridge vent, at the junction of the leading edge and the leak-barrier below. 6.5.7 Install the top course of TruSlate® field slates, UnderBlockTM UV & Moisture Barrier and TruSlate® trim slates in accordance with GAF published installation instructions. Intall TruSlate® trim slates with 10-inch exposure using minimum 1-5/8-inch long deck screws through pre-drilled holes, through the ridge vent to engage the wood deck.
