Dear Mr. Laprade:
Please know a wind load analysis was completed for the following:
1. Two sliding glass doors,NOA 14-0128.11 by PGT Industries, Series 770,Aluminum SGD with
reinforcements, glass Type G4 or G4A, with minimum sill riser of 4.0"and Large and Small Missile
Impact rated. Allowable Design pressure of+90.0 psf and— 110.0 psf.
Using the ASCE7-10 to calculate the applied wind loads for the sliding glass door replacements,the following
parameters were used:
Window& Sliding Glass Doors height less than 90 feet;
Exposure D; Wind speed 170 mph;Enclosed Structure; Category II, Wind Zones 4 &5;
When taking into account the external and internal pressure coefficients and adjustments per the ASCE7-10,the
resulting and governing and most severe applied wind pressure comes to+82.3 psf/-96.4 psf.
With all systems installed per the above noted NOA,the allowable pressures all exceed the applied wind loads
in this application, and is therefore acceptable to this office.
