Apply the felt when the deck is dry. On roof decks 4 in. per foot and greater apply the felt parallel to the eaves lapping each course of the felt over the lower course at least 2 in. Where ends join, lap the felt 4 in. If left exposed, the underlayment felt may be adversely affected by moisture and weathering.
