CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairman Bruce Colton called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m. in Conference Room # 3,
2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, Florida.

UPDATE by SLC Sherriff's Office- Major Tighe on behalf of Sheriff Mascaras
Major Tighe reported the population to be 1235 with 55 US Marshal Prisoners. The average year
to date daily population is 1239. Major Tighe Presented a Jail Population Overview power point
(sent in electronic attachment). There was an open discussion as far as future challenges of a
changing face with older population and preparing for it.
UPDATE by Criminal Justice Coordinator- Mark Godwim
Mr. Godwin announced the loss of Victor Costa who was a Pretrial Program Supervisor. Mr.
Costa was very dedicated to his work and will certainly be missed by many. Other than that
the programs are doing well. On a positive note, there was nice article written in the paper
recently about the Pretrial expansion into Okeechobee.
JUDICIAL UPDATE by Chief judge Metsgers
Chief Judge Metzger announced there was a recent judge assignment rotation. Chief Metzger
was also honored to announce Judge Cynthia Cox received The Distinguished Judicial Service
award. The award recognizes outstanding and sustained service to the public especially as it
relates to the support of pro-bono legal services.
