Lauderdale finally corresponded with DOT representative Horst J. Korn, PLS, District of Surveying and Mapping, Ft. Lauderdale. has been determined that the westerly 20 feet+- of the referenced property frontage on Okeechobee Road. This is in keeping with department policy if the only separation of a parcel of land from a public' road right-of-way a canal., the parcel is considered to have road frontage. The ability to access property across a canal, -if necessary, is the responsibility of the property and approval of building permits does not infer responsibility by St Lucie to provide access. zoning requires 60 feet of road frontage to develop land however, as a I lot of record this requirement is waived if an easement is available enough frontage is available to provide access. would be helpful if this letter were presented when a building permit i~~ due to the uniqueness of the situation and difficulty in discerning road frontage location. can answer any other questions please feel free to contact me.
