sion after holding a public hearing of which due notice was
published at least fifteen (15) days prior to said hearing and all
property owners within 300 feet were notified by mail of said
hearing, has recommended to the Board of County Commissioners of
St. Lucie County that the hereinafter described request for a
change in zoning classification be GRANTED, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners held a public

Mr. Moore asked why he wanted just this small area rezoned, to whmeh

He stated he ~ad met with DOT anm they furnished him with themr proposal
of what will oe done in that area. He said they would take ~0 ft. of
r/w on ~is smde. Me wi±l have 25~ ft. mn depth and can set his store
oack ~ar enough tha~ it would not inter~ere with ~tate Rd. ~0. He sail
he had to request t~e rezoning for what the property ms tomay, not what~

Mr. McIver stated ne felt that Mr. Ament's main concern was that
Mr. Godwin was paying ±or the 30 ft. and that D~T insteam of payi~ng for
3ust mitt woulm have to pay for improvem property. He stated he midn't
thznk anyone cou±d plan that far ahead through thms Board. Mr. Scott
statem this comes up many times, and he didn't thmnk the proper~y should
nave to be ~eld as it ms until the State Agency decmded something. If
they want mt they should let hmm know.

COMMENTS:
This rezoning appears to be quite similar to that of the Hogan
petition on Kings Highway. In addition, a rezoning to commercial
somewhat east of this rezoning was turned down by both the
Planning and Zoning Commission and the County Commission in 1976.
The same comments against the Hogan petition Would apply in this
case.
