Mr. Dick Davis of Leibin-Davis made a p~esentation stating this area is part of a larger development project, approximately 3.76 acres,of which 1.84 acres is presently zoned R-4E and the remaining portion is R-1-A. He stated it is consistent with commercial development and just North of the area there will be a recreation complex. They plan to put in some specialty shops and a restaurant to meet the needs of the development. Mr. Ament reported it is consistent with the original Hutchinson Island Plan and the Growth Management Plan dealing with the island. Moved. by Com. Palmer, seconded by Com. In requesting this change to commercial zoning, it meets the requirements of the Hutchinson Island Plan. The property will be for business use and serving the nearby residential community with architectual styling that will blend in with the neighborhood. They will be in control of the use of the advertising media as well as ingress and egress will be requi~ed. It will provide shopping facilities so as to alleviate going to the mainland on overcrowded bridges. M~. Davis made a motion to approve the petition and it was seconded by M~.
