Petition of K. Scott Brown, John T. Mirisola and Thomas j.
Woolley, Jr. by Agent: Thomas J. Woolley, Jr. for a change in
zoning from RS-4 (Residential, Single Family - 4 d.u./ac) to IL
(I~ustrial, Light) located at the southeast corner of North 41st
St. and Avenue I.
Mr..gott Brown, representin~g the petitioners, chose to sta~d on
h~ ~n~ts ma~ in ~he previous ~tition.
There were no further questions of the applicant, nor anyone who
wished to speak in favor or in opposition to the petition.
Chairman Terpening closed the public portion of the hearing.
Mr. Murphy, representin~ Staff, chose to'stand on comments made
in the previous petition.
Mrs. Ferrick asked Staff if this property was al%ays Low Density
Residential, or was it at one time Industrial Light. Mr. Murphy
said he wasn't sure what the old zoning was in the past, it could
have been anything from B-4 to M-3. The land use plan classifi-
cation has been residential since 198t; however, the use of the
proDerty has maintained industrial classification. The area has
continued to develop in industrial or extremely heavy commercial
type uses. Staff looks at this as a logical expansion of that
district, and feels that this request is consistent with the
industrial policies.
After considering the Standards for Review and Staff's comments
finding those standards appropriate. Mrs. Harris made a motion to
recommend approval of the petition. Mrs. King seconde~d the
motion, and upon roll call, Mrs. Ferrick voted against the
motion, Mrs. King, Mrs. Fawsett, Mrs. Harris, Messrs. Carman,
Sciturro, Myers and voted in favor of the motion. The
~tition will be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners
with a recommendation of approval.

Plan Amendment & R~g~
Due to a prior commitment, I was unable to be present at
your P&Z &. LPA hearings held on January 22, 1987.
Therefore at this time let me stress the oposition of the
above named person to both the Plan Amendment & Re-Zoning.
For the following reasons:
The Plan. Amendment is inconsistent with St. Lucie County's
Growth Management Plan.
Inconsistent with GMPP, Page 32, Industrial Development.~$¢~
