PUBLIC HEARING:
Petitions of the Board of County Commissioners for a change in zoning
classific&tion from A-1 (agriculture) to R$-RV (Recreational Vehicle Parks)
for proper.ties located (1) on State Road A-1-A at Bryn Mawr Camp Resorts,
and (2) on South A-I-A, directly North of Outdoor Resorts.
Gary Ament explained that-in 1@76 the Comprehensive Zoning Resolution
was amended to create the RS-RV zoning exclusively for recreational vehicle
parks.. Prior to that they were permitted in A-1 zo ~ '

sloners had not initiated the petitions until now. Bryn Mawr and Bob Rigel's

proposed park are non-conforming, and no improvements can be done in these
~arks as of now. This is simply an administrative matter, and the owners of
~he parks have been n~tified and are in agreement.
Motion by Mr. Scott and seconded by Mr. Tiernan to approve the petitions.
7he Board was polled and the motion passed unanimously.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will recommend to the Board of County
]ommissioners their approval of the petitions for rezoning.

.(4) & (5) BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (A-1 to R-5R¥)
COMMENTS: The Comprehensive Zoning Resolution was amended in 1976 to
create the R-5RV (recreational vehicle park) district. At
that time, the County Attorney recommended that existing
recreational vehicle parks be rezoned so .as to become con-
forming uses. In 1976, this rezoning was never initiated.
These petitions for two of the three recreational vehicle
parks in St. Lucie County will make Bryn Mawr and Bob Rigel's
proposed park on Hutchinson Island conforming uses.
