after holding a public hearing of which due notice was published
at least, fifteen (15) days prior to said hearing and all property
owners within 300 feet were notified by mail of said hearing, has
recommended to the Board of County Commissioners of St..Lucie
County that the hereinafter described request for a change in
zoning classification be GRANTED, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County. Commissioners-held a public
hearing on January ll, 1977 after first Publishing notice of said

residential.
Low density residential with neighborhood commercial
in the Vicinity of the intersection of S. 25th Street
and Midway Road.-
COMMENTS: The proposed rezoning is generally consistent with good planning
principles which promote the location of commercial development
at high access locations such as this intersection. Concentra~
tion of commercial development is much more desirable than strip
commercial development which is strung out along major highways.
The county's landscaping and setback requirements should serve
to minimize possible incompatibilities between business and non-
business use.

The Planning $ Zo~u~g Commission held a public hearing 12'/
Mr. Charles Stone, Attorney, appeared for the petitioners ~
and the prospective owner, who he stated, intends to build on the
property if the rezoning is approved.He ~stated this property is
located on one of the main roads running north and south, and
that all people in the area were in favor of the re zoning.
There was no opposition to this petition.
Mr. H. B. MOOre asked why the residents of Twelve Oaks had
not been contacted, to which Mr. Stone stated they had been.

two residents within the 300 ft. that live in Twelve Oaks, and
they were notified. Mr. Moore stated 3 of ~ people in Twelve
told him they were opposed to this petition, to which Mr. Stone
replied thet~.~he knew of only two, the Howards and one other.
The Planning and Zoning Board then VOted to recommend
of this petition to the Board of County Commissioners, because
is consistent with the future land use plan for the area.
Prior to the public hearing, notice of the same was sent by
first class mail to all adjacent property owners as listed on the
attached sheet below.

change in zoning classification is permitted. He stated this prope~rty is
on one of the main roads that goes north and south. He stated the people
in the area have been favorable toward this petition. He said Dr. Strawn
proposes to build a one story office building and there is more than ade-
quate parking space.
There was no opposition to this petition.
Mr. Ebner stated he felt this property is consistent with the .......
future 2and use plan for the area, as stated in Mr. Ament's comments.
