PUBLIC HEARING:
Petition of Bill and Marlene Stewart for a change in zoning class
from B-3 (arterial business) to A-! (agriculture) for property located
West side of U. S. #1, directly across from Torpey Road.
No one was present to represent the petition, but Mr. William Dool
was present and expressed opposition to the petition~ on the basis of
existing sand mine in the vicinity that is causing considerable E
cited blowing and drifting sand, the noise of s.tarting up at 7 AM, and
problem of trucks backing up over his property. He also objected to
be left when the sand mining was finished.
Mr. Thomas stated that this rezoning would not automatically approv
sand mining, that it would have to be approved by the Board of County
Mrs. Dooling was also present, and stated that as the owner and o
of the Monkey Tree Day Care Center, the blowing sand was so bad last
she registered a complaint against the sand mining. She stared that
nearly 1/2 inch of sand in the bottom of her pool
