This property is located on the east side of Selvitz Road, just south of the Ten Mile Creek bridge. PLANNING AND ZONING CC~ISSION SEPTEmbER 27, 1984 Mr. Abernethy said he also represents the 14th and 15th petitions on the agenda which are Becker Holding Company for a Plan Amendment and a Rezoning. He said he has spoken to Staff and the secretary and at this time would like to request that these two petitions be tabled to the October 25th meeting. There was no opposition. Mr. Carman made a motion that Petition No. 14 and 15 be tabled to the October'25th meeting, the motion was seconded by Mrs. Harris 'and unanimousl approved by the Board. The site is located on a tight, banked curve on Selvitz Road. The concept presented would be considered unacceptable by staff during the Site Plan review process. Both petitions have been scheduled for public hearing before the planning and zoning commission on Thursday, September 27, 1984 at 7:00 p.m. Because of delays which we have encountered in finalizing the plans for the proposed office site, we would respectfully request that our petitions be temporarily withdrawn from the September 27th agenda, and be reset on the next available planning and zoning commission agenda. It is our hope that this request will not cause any inconvenience to the County. The requested delay will allow Becket Holding Corporation to complete its plans for the project so that an accurate representation might be given to the planning and zoning commission and the Board of County Commissioners. Sciturro, Chairman Planning and Zoning Committee St. Lucie County, Florida Dear Sir: I am opposed to the zoning change attached, for the follow~'ng reasons~ 1. Traffic will increase on Selvitz Road and surrounding area. 2~ Although the anticipated usage may be as stated~ future use may result in more adverse development and result in depleted property values~ 3~ The ecological impact on a natural, picturesque residential setting. My home~is approximately 400 feet from the Selvitz~oad bridge approach area~ Vehicles contacting the approach area produce a noise loud enough to be clearly audible even when our windows are closed~ Increased traffic will only magnify this condition. This zoning change is only a stepping stone toward allowing other industry to be added to that which already ~xists. The present businesses cause a drone which is clearly audible as early as 6 A.M. The accompanying vibration is sufficient to cause bottles etc. in cur medicine cabinet to rattle and doors to resonate against their latches when in a closed position~ The possibility of increased disturbance is appalling, especially if granted an invitation to locate as near as the south bank of Ten Mile Oreek~ The resulting effect on property values is very obvious. The results of the cancerous effect of more and more deVelo'pment in the natural areas of our county are your responibility ~ud we trust you approach this issue honestly. Industry can utilize an industrial park a little further south. There is no reason to locate industry at the back door of a residentian area. Do you consider it in good judgement to sandwich the Boy Scout Camp in between heavy industry area and the proposed commercial zoning area. Give the~m a break!
