West, ~gent, for a change in zoning from A-1 (agricultural and (arterial business) to PS-~ (public service district) on property located on the west side of U.S. #1, 1300' North of Kitterman Road. Mr. West said that he represented Florida Power andLight Company and they needed to oonstruQt and install an electrical distribution substation to serve the southern end of Ft. Pierce. If approved, they would begin construction immediately and it would be put in service by December of this year. This location is near the nuclea~ plant transmission lines that go eas~ and'west. The PS.1 zoning had been recommended by the Planning Dept. and it fits our needs. Mrs. Wanda Tague said ~he was not opposing but wondered what the building would look like and would it be 'detrimental to her property. Mr. West showed her a plan and explained to her that it would have a chain link fence around it with necessary shielding shr~uBBe.ry and would be a CBS~ Utility type building with very little traffic in and out. Mr. Tiernan made a motion to approve the petition and it was seconded by Mr. Sciturro mn$ upon vote, it passed unanimously.
