Enelose.d is a copy of Resolution No. 80~,88 adopted by the BOard. Very truly yours, BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA RESOLUTION NO. 80-88 WHEP~EAS, St. Lucie County Planning_and Zoning Commission, afterl holding a public h~aring of Which due notice was Published at least fifteen (15) days Prior to said hearing and all Owners of property within 300 feet were notified by mail of said recommended to the Board of County Commissioners of St. that the hereinafter, described requests for Changes in ~oning Classification be approved, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners held a Public on October 7, 1980., after P6blishing a notice of said hearing in the News Tribune on September 15 and September 22nd respectively. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED~y the BOard of County Commie- sioners of St. Lucie County, Florida in meeting assembled th~s day of October, 1980 as follows: 1. PIERCE, INC., be and the sa~e is hereby changed from B-3 (arterial business) to B-4 (general bUSiness) BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Zoning Director of St. Lucie County is hereby authorized and directed to cause the changes to'be made on the.:.%.!3.~3. -Official Zoning Map of St. Lucie County as set out above and to ma thereo~ of reference to the date of adoption of BOARD-DF COUNT~ COMMISSIONERS T]. LUCIE COUNTy FLORIDA this.: October 2, 1980 ?05 Kitterman Road The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners 2300 Virginia Avenue Fort Pierce, Florida 33450 Gentlemen: This is to inform you that we strongly object to the proposal to rezone the plot of land OWned by Flowers Baking Company. If the zoning can be kept B-3, we do not object to the business in gsneral. We object to the rezoning. Rezoning the land to B-4 Would be spot zoning and Would set a strong precedent for others to rezone their land to B-4. It seems to us that the proposed business operation Would be better suited for N-1 zoning since a motor freight terminal is one of the Prohibited Uses. I asked the question at the first public hearing if a distribution center and a motor freight terminal were not the same thing. I did not receive an answer. Therefore I am asking you, the County Commissioners if they are not one-and the same. , I Would also like to ask what plans are being made for future maintenance of Kitterman Road. With the ~resent traffic load, it sometimes becomes almost impassable. With the new business, we won't have access to our property with the present maintenance Practices. Several years ago I applied for rezoning for a part of my property (Lot 3) from A-1 to B-3 to start a cabinet and Woodmolding business. Ny request was denied because it would be spot zoning. I think the Commissioners should be consistant in all zoning change requests. Rezoning the subject land Would most certainly be spot zoning. ~[~/CO~I. I:~ ZON. ~ L_~ Al-P{.
