ST. LUCIE COUNTY
LOCAL MITIGATION STRATEGY
WORKING GROUP MEETING
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, 2021
On Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 10 a.m., the Public Safety Department’s Division of
Emergency Management will host the St. Lucie County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Working
Group through a videoconference using BlueJeans video conferencing. This meeting is open to the
public and will be broadcasted from the St. Lucie County Emergency Operations Center, 15305 W.
Midway Rd., Ft. Pierce, FL 34945. If you would like to view and participate in the meeting as an
audience member, please send a request to Gustavo Vilchez (VilchezG@stlucieco.org), Emergency
Operations Manager.
The LMS Working Group is comprised of county, municipal, and community partners that
prepare and promote local mitigation strategies and projects to reduce long-term risks to life and
property from natural, technological, and human-caused disasters. The resulting pre- and post-
disaster mitigation strategies and projects are supported by a variety of state and federal programs
and funding sources, in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. Topics will include
updates on the LMS program, the Community Rating System, mitigation funding streams, and
preparation for the 5-Year LMS update with the Florida’s Division of Emergency Management.
Public attendance and comments are welcomed and encouraged.

NONTELEVISED MEETINGS
St. Lucie County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Working Group members and members
of the public,
County staff and the public may participate in Nontelevised County Public Meetings
during the State of Emergency by utilizing Communications Media Technology, including
telephone. The public will not be able to physically attend the meetings as there is no
physical meeting place.
The public is encouraged to listen to and see Nontelevised County Public Meetings during
the State of Emergency remotely while practicing Social Distancing. The County
encourages the public to make use of online tools and phone service and stay informed
about County business.
The Public will be able to ask questions and make comments electronically when the
Agenda item for Public Comments is given by the LMS Working Group Chair. Comments
received electronically before the LMS Working Group meeting will be given to the LMS
Working Group during the meeting and included in the record, provided that the
comments comply with the County’s rules. All electronic comments must be received by
12 NOON on the day prior to the LMS Working Group meeting. Please email comments

The public may view, listen, and provide comments through the BlueJeans app /
website when the Agenda item for Public Comments is called out by the LMS Working
Group Chair during the meeting or can listen and make comments by phone.

County decisions.
All votes and all official actions shall be recorded and taken for minutes, so that the public
is able to determine how members voted, as well as what actions were taken during the
meeting. If at any point the technology fails or is interrupted, the meeting shall cease
until the problem is resolved.
