Although the City and County are still working on an agreement for Parks Impact Fees, County Parks Impact Fees are still due. This letter serves as initiation of the ACM (Alternative Collection Method) process as outlined in Section 24-174 of the St. Lucie County Code. County Parks Impact Fees are due and are to be paid to the County within 60 days of receipt of the enclosed Parks Impact Fee Statement. St. Lucie County is responsible for providing regional County parks throughout the County to serve all residents and businesses, including those within the City of Port St. Lucie. As Port St. Lucie grows, the County must account for the impacts of that growth on new and expanded County parks infrastructure and facilities to meet the increased demand. The County accomplishes this by charging a statutory one-time impact fee on new development, including within the City of Port St. Lucie, at the time of permit. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. The City and County have a long-standing history of coming together and partnering to accomplish great things to benefit the community. We will continue to work together and serve the community of Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie County.
