NO: 98-174 DATE: January 27, 1998 SUBJECT: Value Adjustment Board - Special Master Recommendations In response to your memorandum dated January 27, 1998 regarding the special master recommendations on the agricultural classification petitions, please be advised that on the morning of January 26, 1998 Michael Cooper came to the County Attorney's Office and reviewed the recommendations. The secretary who was assisting him offered to make copies of any of the recommendation s if he wished. He indicated to her that he would wait for the Clerk's Office to transmit the copies to Property Appraiser's Office. Jim Reeder of "The Palm Beach Post"came to the County Attorney's Office later in the day to check on the status of the recommendations. When I informed him that we had received a portion of the agricultural recommendations, he asked to review them and then requested a copy of the recommendations on Paul Rhodes' petitions which were provided to him as public records. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA will commence hearing petitions relating to ad valorem assessments filed pursuant to Section 194.011(3), Florida Statutes, beginning October 23, 1998 beginning at 8 :30 a.m. and will continue from day to day in Room 101 of the St. Lucie County Administration Building, 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, Florida until all petitions to the Value Adjustment Board have been heard. All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard. Anyone with a disability requiring assistance to attend such hearings should contact the St. Lucie County PersonnellRisk Manager at (561) 462-177 or TDD (516) 462-1428 at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the hearing. ,--., ." The total for personnel services is $19,672.21, which was paid by the Clerk of Circuit Court. This amount needs to be reimbursed by the Board of County Commissioners, however there is no money budgeted in 001-1325-531000. The School Board will be reimbursing the Board of County Commissioners the 2/5ths portion that they are responsible for and that amount totals $15,662.01. In order for the Board of County Commissioners to reimburse the Clerk of Circuit Court, for personnel, we will need a budget amendment done and a requisition completed.
