Subject: Comprehensive Economic Development Stt•ategy Committee
Dear Mr. McIntyre:
Iu accordance with the Bylaws of the Compreliensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), the
Decembei• meeting is designated as the Amiual meeting, at wliich time the appointment of lnembers and
alternates is to occur. It is tlierefore requested that the Board of County Coinmissioilers take the
necessaiy action to appoint five members and five alternates for the upcoming year.
The Strategy Committee must represent tiie main economic interests of fhe region, and must include
private sector representatives as a majority of its membership. The Strategy Cominittee should include:
public officials; community Ieaders; representatives of workforce development boards; representatives of
institutions of higher education; minority and labor groups; and private individuals.
The St. Lucie County Board of Commissioners may want to consider ratifying its current appointments
for a one-year term (January 2015 - December 2015) or make new appointments. The following
inembers from St. Lucie Comity currently serve on the Treasw•e Coast Regional Planning Council CEDS
Committee:
District 1 - Derelc Moore;
District 2 - Jeremy Theisen;
District 3 - Michael Corbit;
District 4- Harold `Buzz" Smyth; and
Dish•ict 5- Peter Tesch with Al Rivett as the alternate
